The phrase ‘hole in the wall’ is a definition of a not very well known place that is great for a night out. We wanted to find out where these hidden gems were by speaking to some Beijingers. So in one week, we interviewed a total of 14 people. These interviews actually became our gateway to enter various social groups, allowing us to peek into their lives and discover what Beijing means to different people. In a way, these people are the holes in the walls. They are not famous but they are part of the ongoing urban evolution of this city.
